WATER WELLS

GCF has drilled 10 water wells every year since 2008. Water wells and tanks provide clean water for an entire village's drinking, cooking and bathing needs. Each village organizes a water committee that provides long term maintenance and support for the water wells. Overhead tanks are more effective long term solutions because the offer communities a greater degree of control over the source of their water.

Village Water Well - $1000 each (Includes: well equipment, drilling costs, establishment of well)

Village Overhead Tank Project - $5000 each (Includes: tank equipment, building costs, delivery and set up of tank)

     As of Spring

         2019:

80 bore wells

8 overhead tanks

K-12 SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

The goal of this scholarship is to promote highschool graduation among families who cannot afford to keep their children in school.  The vision of the project is to demonstrate how education can raise an entire community out of poverty. Initially we had 45 youth at the rate of $500 per annum. We have agreed to fund 10 college students who came through our program, who want to pursue more education, at the rate of $1000 per year.

The A&E Scholarship program has demonstrated the best results of any of our education programs so far. Last year 4 students completed their college degrees and are now working. Currently, 5 students are completing their college coureses, and looking to work.

ABANDONED

SENIORS

This program is a result of our recent board member visit to India. One of the communities we work in hosted a senior citizen dinner in honor of GCF and at the dinner distributed rice, clothing and blankets. There were 35 abandoned seniors in attendance. Traditionally, Indian families live in multi-generation homes and their seniors are cared for by the younger generations. As India modernizes and people move away from their villages, many seniors are left abandoned or "orphaned" as they describe their condition. These elderly and fragile people have no one to care for them and there are no government programs available to serve them. Our Program Director, Mary Pushpa, and her family have been hosting the dinner and distribution for four years, privately. GCF is pursuing food distribution monthly and increasing the program to 60 seniors. On annual board visits, GCF offers medical attention if our nursing partners are available to travel.

Individual Senior Sponsorship - $200 per person per year (includes monthly distribution of rice, dahl, oil, fruit and vegetables, clothing and blankets, available medicine)

Monthly Seniors Sponsorship - $1000 per month

Full Program Sponsorship - $12000 per year

     As of Spring

          2019:
