ADIVASI - CHAVANOD HOME
The Adivasi are considered the original people of India. There are many tribes classified as Adivasi. Most Adivasi tribes have lived the same way for thousands of years and are being left behind in the modernization of India. We are working with an Adivasi group that has moved into the city and are now in the slums. Most children in this group do not attend school after the 5th grade and are married very young. It is typical to find teenage girls with multiple children. We are working with this group to encourage education. Our Adivasi school provides education, clothing, food and a clean environment. We also hope to have a tailoring school with these women soon.
Adivasi Scholarship - $300 per student per year
Full Program Support - $12,000 per year
INDIVIDUAL MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIPS
22 scholarships have been given to students who have proven themselves diligent learners. This program operates through the Diocese of Nellore. Students' disciplines include: MBSS, B.Sc Nursing, Dental medicine, and Pharmacy. As of Spring 2019, 22 students are moving through their disciplines currently.
